Humans of FHC: Lauren Reed

“I’ve been working at the Grove, which is a restaurant, so I’ve been helping prep food and stuff; [it’s] just volunteering. I’m fifteen, and I started working there when I was thirteen. I just went in and asked. I knew the main chef, and he offered me a job to help out, and I took it because I have always wanted to be a chef. This year, I finally started getting paid. I just worked catering this huge banquet at A.K. Rikk’s. There were [fashion designers]; they were flying in from Milan. They were eating and auctioning off clothes. I didn’t recognize anyone but I saw people there. We were in two separate rooms so we didn’t interact much with them, but it was cool.”
