JV volleyball falls short to Northview 2-1
On Thursday night, the Lady Rangers JV volleyball team took on the Northview Wildcats. The Rangers battled to the best of their abilities, but fell short by one set. Throughout the whole night, the two teams played with a high intensity level, allowing there to be an interesting and fun game. The Rangers kicked it into gear and gave all they had, but it was too little too late, which in turn left room for Northview to swoop in and take the win.
Sophomore Jasmine Dawson helped the team by earning multiple points with her fantastic attacks on the Wildcats. Jasmine was aided by sophomore Kaia McCuien, who also had great hits as well. These girls consistently put points on the board for FHC making the scores closer together and keeping up the intensity. The Rangers had a bit of a setback when sophomore Kelsey Toole was injured during warm-ups. However, they did not let this affect the game at all. Kelsey wanted to contribute in some way, so she picked herself up and played the second set.
Although the first set was a nail-biter, the Northview Wildcats took the win. After realizing what they had to do, FHC stepped up. The Rangers used their seemingly unstoppable offense to knock-out the competition in the second set, taking the win. This was it, the last set of the game that would determine the winner of the night. The Rangers went into the final set with all that they had, unfortunately it was not enough to defeat the Wildcats.
The Rangers wins have outweighed their losses and are still looking very strong in the conference. The team continuously works to improve their defense in order to keep the ball off the ground. Next week, the Rangers take on Greenville and Cedar springs in hopes of securing two more wins. If the Rangers take these upcoming games, FHC will be in a great position to win in the OK White conference.
