Previously undefeated JV Football falls to Cedar Springs 28-23
Thursday night, the JV football team suffered a tough loss against the Cedar Springs Red Hawks. The night started with sophomore Joey Wise from the backfield, finding the end zone for a 78-yard touchdown. The Red Hawks, however, would quickly respond. The Rangers were then back on offense, but couldn’t string plays together with a quick three and out. This gave Cedar the ball back and put them at their 20-yard line. The Red Hawks went ahead 16-8. With one minute left in the second quarter, the Rangers found the end zone again to tie the game at 16-16 going into the half.
Late in the fourth quarter, FHC went up by five. With the game being close all night and emotions running high, the Rangers had a couple costly penalties. With 1.6 seconds left on the clock, another penalty put Cedar Springs on their 5-yard line. Cedar Springs went on a quick hitter into the endzone, and took down the undefeated Rangers 28-23.
Join us next week for the Rangers last game of the season at home.
