Varsity field hockey gets two more wins

On Saturday, October 7 the varsity field hockey team had two big games. In the first, they played against Oakland who had only let 11 goals in all season going into the game. The Rangers were able to shut them out, and add eight more goals to their resume winning 8-0. This win proved they can beat the best teams in the state and junior Madison Bruno gave credit to a hot start.

“Our team came out very strong right off the bat scoring a goal in 20 seconds,” Madison said.

The second matchup was against a Clarkston team that was good, but didn’t have the resume of Oakland. The Rangers were able to handle them easily with another shutout, 6-0.

The Rangers is the top team in their division and looks to make a run at states. Senior Elysee Gerondale is looking forward to this golden opportunity they have as a team.

“We’re planning on going all the way,” Elysee said. “We won our division and now we get a bye in the first round.”

The Rangers are onto the quarterfinals with the first round bye and have the semifinals and state finals to follow if they advance. Their quarterfinal match will be October 24th at FHC.
