The new Taco Bell did not meet my expectations
My utter lack of knowledge pertaining to fast food joints didn’t exactly make me the first choice when it came to who should review the new Taco Bell. However, not having been to a Taco Bell in over a year did make me the mosta objective choice.
Since the new Taco Bell opened, I haven’t heard a single person speak poorly of it. So, of course, I had quite high hopes. I don’t know exactly what I was expecting to be so extra special about this Taco Bell that would make it stand out over every other fast food joint, but whatever it was, I didn’t find it.
Now don’t get me wrong, it was still an amazing Taco Bell, and I don’t have anything against it. But, after weeks of hearing about how spectacular it is- and having everyone build it up in my head- I was expecting something unique. The place was surprisingly spotless, the food was delicious, and the staff was helpful, but I expected all of that. With everything everyone had been saying, I expected the basic sanitation met, I expected a helpful wait staff, I expected something more. And it was that “something more” that I didn’t get.
However, for not getting fast food often, I was surprised by how much I liked it and would be willing to go there again. The image of a dingy building and ill-prepared food that I associate with fast food restaurants was luckily not what I experienced at the new Taco Bell. It was clean and well kept. Surprisingly, it was not very busy, so conversation was easy and uninterrupted. Our food was prepared quickly, but not sloppily and quite abundant in varieties of flavor. The Quesarito was my personal favorite of the many things I tried for its extra kick of flavor and unique way to consume queso.
So, if I hadn’t heard all the hype about it and was going to this restaurant without any preconceived notions, I would likely only have exceedingly good things to say about it. I would have loved my experience at Taco Bell even more if I hadn’t gone in expecting to be completely blown away.
