Why do you play volleyball?
“I play volleyball because it allows me to kind of escape from whatever is going on in my life and just put all my focus on volleyball. Although the work is hard and sometimes discouraging, the moments when there is a really good play are the times I live for.”
Who has been your biggest inspiration in your volleyball career?
“I think the biggest inspiration for me has been my teammates. When times get tough and I felt like I couldn’t do something or wanted to quit, they are always there for me telling me “you got this” or something that gave me a sense of motivation.”
What is your personal goal for this season? What do you think is the key to achieve this goal?
“My personal goal this season is to keep improving my mentality as soon as I step on the court. Volleyball is 90% mental so going into a game or a drill thinking you are going to play badly is what will make you play badly. I think the key to changing your mentality is constantly reminding yourself that you can do it, which sounds cliche, but the more positive you are the better off you will be.”
Talk a little about your time being apart of FHC volleyball, this year and previous years.
“Being apart of FHC volleyball is not just for the sport, it’s also for the atmosphere. As soon as you step into the gym, it makes you feel out of your element. Not only that, I have such a love for the girls on the team. We have such a great team chemistry and I love how close we all are during season.”
