Trouble with the Curve is an astounding sports film directed by Robert Lorenz. The movie consists of a father-daughter duo that reconnect through scouting high school baseball players for the MLB team, the Atlanta Braves. I felt that this movie deserved a 6 on a scale of 1 to 10.

This movie shows the difficulty and the hard work that goes into scouting players for the MLB. Every single little detail matters, down to the way the player’s hands move when he bats.

I would definitely give this movie a chance; the plot line develops quickly and the viewer is immediately engaged. I liked this movie because of the hidden talent that is discovered by the most unlikely of characters. Mickey, played by Amy Adams, has a great amount of baseball knowledge in her background and was able to pick out some great talent in the most unlikely place: outside of her motel room.

I’d suggest adding this movie to your “to watch” list. You’d get to see what scouting is like and discover how hard athletes work to get noticed.
