Why do you play basketball?

“I play basketball because I love the sport and the high pressure within the game. I love all of the excitement that happens throughout the game whether it is by myself or my teammates. I love playing with the team that I am with because everyone does their best and we are all doing what we love.”

Who has been your biggest inspiration in your basketball career?

“One of my biggest inspirations in the years that I have played basketball is my dad. When my dad was younger he played basketball and was one of the best players on his team. My dad helps me train throughout basketball season and off season as well. My dad is always there and willing to talk to me if I had a bad game. He really inspires me to be good at basketball.”

What is your personal goal for this season?

“My personal goal this season is to be a strong rebounder and post player. I would also like to score more points than I did last season. My key to achieve this goal is to communicate and create a strong relationship with my teammates and help move the ball around by setting screens and rolling to the basket to get wide open shots.”

What is your favorite memory from FHC basketball?

“My favorite experience from playing Rangerball was last year in our second to last game against Grandville. There was 30 seconds left on the clock and one of my teammates in-bounded the ball to me. I ran down the court and a girl on the other team fouled me so I got to shoot two free throws. At the time the score was 10-11 with Grandville in the lead. The pressure was all on me to score these last baskets to get in the lead, I made both free throws to put us up by one point. The game ended 12-11 [with] us [winning].”
