Freshman girls basketball is defeated by Grand Haven 36-13
Freshman girls basketball played in their third game of the season Tuesday night at Grand Haven. Unfortunately for the team, poor shooting throughout the night combined with a 27% free throw percentage led the Rangers to a 36-13 defeat.
The only points scored in the first quarter by the Rangers came from freshman Audrey Sidebotham. The Buccaneers scored four times as many points to give themselves a six point lead after the first, 8-2. Likewise to the first, only one player from the team scored in the second, this time being freshman Ella Sloat with three. The Rangers went into halftime down 16-5.
The third quarter is when the game started to really get away from the Rangers. Ella scored three more in the third in addition to a basket from freshman Madeline Knoor to give them five more for the quarter; but the Buccaneers scored 12 as the quarter ended with a score of 28-10. The Rangers scored three more points for the night for an ending score of 36-13. The team hopes to get their first win Thursday night against Forest Hills Eastern.
