Girls freshman basketball get its first win against Eastern

FHC girls freshman basketball played against Forest Hills Eastern Thursday night to earn their first win of the season. The first quarter started slow for the team but they made a huge comeback in the second to help earn the win with a final score of 35-18. Throughout the night the team made multiple steals to stop the Eastern offense; this combined with the presence of freshman Audrey Sidebotham in the post helped to secure the win.

The Rangers scored only one basket in the first, coming from freshman Morghan Tilton to end it 2-4. But they were able to score 12 unanswered points in the second to go into the half up by ten, 14-4. Audrey scored six of eight points in the third to keep the team in the lead, 22-14. The team finished the game strong with 13 points in the final quarter to Eastern’s four to earn the win 35-18.

This game was the team’s first win, putting them 1-3 in non-conference play. They have next week off as they prepare for their Holiday Tournament at Cornerstone University the following week.
