The freshman boys basketball team added another win to its record last night, putting the team’s record at 3-2 overall with a 59-56 home win over Northview. Freshman Jeremy James led the team with 18 points and freshman Dawsen Beach had eight points and six assists, both running the offense incredibly well.
Throughout the first half, coach Kevin Banner was unhappy with the performance of the boys due to a lack of effort and defensive intensity, but FHC still led Northview 35-29 going into the locker rooms at half. The Rangers struggled to defend Northview’s layups in the post positions, but the lead was secured by the multiple hit shots by FHC.
Going into the second half up by six gave FHC the confident boost to lead the rest of the game. Throughout the next two quarters, the Ranger defense stayed strong and ended up outworking Northview to secure the win.
With Greenville on the clock for Thursday, the freshman Rangerballers are locked in and focused to continue playing well and extend their winning streak to four straight.
