Girls freshman basketball is defeated by Northview 36-23
Freshman Audrey Sidebotham was able to earn herself a double-double in Tuesday night’s game against Northview with 12 points and 11 rebounds. Despite the solid performance from Audrey, the team was still defeated by Northview 36-23. This loss puts the team at 0-1 in the conference.
The game started slowly for the Rangers with their only two points in the first coming from free throws by freshmen Chloe Teliczan and Morghan Tilton. Fortunately, the Ranger defense only let Northview score six, making it a two-possession game. Likewise to the first, the only points in the second came from Audrey who was able to knock down a pair of free throws. This quarter, however, the Wildcats scored 16 to give themselves a substantial 22-4 lead at the half. FHC went on to score 19 points in the second half, with ten points from Audrey and four from Morghan. The girls won the second half 19-14 but ultimately lost the game 36-22.
The team plays Greenville tonight at 4:00 pm as they hope to earn their first conference win against the Yellow Jackets.
