More stories from Ali Czarnecki
Freshman boys basketball earned a huge 48-26 win over Greenville on Thursday night. This added to the team’s now five game winning streak and was the Rangers’ second time defeating Greenville. The Rangers came out strong and kept a steady lead the entire game.
In the first half, the game was more offensive. The Rangers grabbed the boards and had a good transition to offense. FHC had a plan to create a good lead in the first half so that the second half could be used to focus on defense and plays. At the end of the first half, the score was 24-9 which gave the boys the perfect lead.
In the second half, everyone on the team had an opportunity to play. The defense was successful and only allowed Greenville to score 26 points all night. The rebounding in the second half was phenomenal and helped the Rangers gain the big lead.
Freshman Jeremy James scored 15 points and freshman Cam David scored 12 points which had a huge impact on the overall score.
Next week, the Rangers will take on Cedar Springs and try to continue to improve upon their 12-3 record.
