Disney’s A Wrinkle in Time exceeded expectations
Last Saturday night I, on the spur of the moment, decided to go see a movie after taking the SAT. I wanted something happy and a “feel good movie.” That led me to discover the movie A Wrinkle in Time.
The $103 million budget film has a crazy amount of creativity, mixed with a deep amount of adventure. A Wrinkle in Time is the movie rendition of the best-selling novel created over 4o years ago and is a movie all must see.
To shortly summarize the plot of the movie, young Meg Murry and her little brother, Charles Wallace, have been without their scientist father, Mr. Murry (Chris Pine), for the past five years. He discovered a new planet and used the concept known as a tesseract to travel there. Throughout the film, the adventure takes you on a ride in hopes of finding Mr. Murry. Over the course of the two-hour movie, the phenomenal actors take you through adventures in different dimensions than you have ever seen before.
The structure that the film is set up in is beyond creative and outstandingly executed. For instance, the three mysterious astral travelers known as Mrs. Whatsit, Mrs. Who, and Mrs. Which, who take the Murrys on an adventure of a lifetime, turn into different creatures, and the way they transform is supernatural and so imaginative that it draws a wide spectrum of ages from young children to older adults.
What makes the movie so commendable is the way the producers, James Whitaker and Catherine Hand, execute the whole film to come together so majestically. It may seem as though the movie is set for a younger audience but, an older one is sure to like it just as much. You will be fascinated as you take a trip to a land you have never been to before.
The movie has been credited for casting different actors from all different backgrounds and the amount of talent that is displayed through both the big time movie star and the first time actors/actresses.
The movie I originally had skeptical feelings toward turned out to be a fascinating and thrilling movie that I loved. To say the least, A Wrinkle in Time exceeded all of my expectations and is a movie to definitely add to your “to watch” list.
