FH girls varsity water polo is defeated by Grandville 8-1

On Tuesday night, Forest Hills girls varsity water polo went up against the Grandville Bulldogs at home. FH tried to come back from an 8-1 deficit, but in the end they were unable to do so. Going into the game, the team figured it would be close because the last time they played each other, it was a closer score and FH was only short by 1 goal. The Forest Hills team was short a few players due to the conflicting choir concert, resulting in a less than full strength roster.

The only goal of the game was scored by junior captain Selina Franovic. Everyone on the team took at least one shot on the goal. Sadly, it didn’t help Forest Hills secure a win for the night.

Despite this loss, Forest Hills still aims high for states at the end of this season, the players’ number one goal this year. The girls now prepare to face Zeeland East in their next game on April 12. Their conference standing is looking promising so far this season and will continue to, as long as they continue to work hard.
