Varsity water polo struggles over the weekend in EK tournament

Over this past weekend, varsity water polo hit the road and headed to East Kentwood where they took part in a tournament. Unfortunately, Forest Hills walked away with all losses, a few of them by very narrow margins.

The first game was against East Grand Rapids on Friday where FH took the loss with a final score of 8-4, keeping the gap closer than in games past. FH fell due to the lack of offensive plays on their side and struggled some on defense. Sophomore Sarah Schenck was a player that contributed big time to the 4 goals scored by Forest Hills.

In a Saturday game against Saline, FH was leading at the half but then fell in the second half with only a 2 point score gap ending up with the final score being 9-7. Yet again, Sarah helped the team big time in helping move the ball around constantly during the game.

They then played Huron and Grand Ledge, obviously hoping to come out with a win. FH unfortunately lost both games with a score of 13-5. Sophomore Olivia Luplow was also a big part of goals scored for FH in these games. The team was able to move the ball around and acquire some steals throughout the day.

The improve in gameplay is a step in the right direction for Forest Hills water polo. If they keep this up and work hard in practice, they still have a chance at going far in the postseason.
