Varsity baseball sweeps Ottawa Hills with 18-0 mercy
The varsity baseball team completed its sweep over Ottawa Hills with an 18-0 conference win in 3 innings.
Junior Jacob Hornbeck took the mound for the Rangers for a 3 inning no-hitter. He allowed zero runs, while walking nobody and striking out 8. The defense behind Jacob was solid, as FHC didn’t commit a single error. Junior Luke Herzog made the most plays in the field with 7.
The Rangers were hot from the start as they scored 6 runs in the first, 8 in the second, and 4 more in the third to run rule the Bengals. Senior Connor Schwinkendorf and juniors Kyle Wojczynski and Cole Coughlin all managed multiple hits, while Kyle led the team by going 3-4 with 4 RBIs and a double.
The Rangers move to 14-4 on the season as they look to a non conference doubleheader against Grandville this weekend before taking on Lowell in a conference series next week.
