Boys JV tennis places 4th in Rockford Invitational
The Ranger JV tennis team had a solid weekend up at Rockford, placing 4th out of 8 teams. Some of the key doubles teams included sophomores Eli Romijn and Sam Cooper along with junior Shane Hubble and freshman Devon Holcomb. FHC heads up to Northview Tuesday night for a showdown with the Wildcats.
Eli and Sam placed the highest out of the 9 doubles teams. They picked up a couple wins against some conference opponents, which will be big later in the season when they have to face those teams a second time. Shane and Devon also finished high in the final standings, as well as showing a lot of promise by fighting hard against some very tough opponents.
The Rangers’ match against Northview Tuesday could be a turning point in the season. The mostly-freshman team is getting to know how to play at the next level, and the young players are becoming very comfortable in their matches. If FHC can stay composed and not get too stressed out, look for a dominating performance from the Rangers and a turning point in the season.
