Boys JV tennis falls to EGR 9-2
After coming off a tough loss up north to the Rockford Rams, the boys JV tennis team was in need of a big win. Unfortunately, they could not get this win, as they were defeated by the EGR Pioneers soundly 9-2. The freshmen on the team continue to impress, as the freshman duo of Devin Holcomb and Hezekiah Lane won by the largest margin for the Rangers. The other win came from sophomore Aidan O’ Meara and freshman Zack Guikema 8-7.
Even though FHC lost by a large margin, they still played a great game. EGR is one of the better teams that the Rangers will face in the remainder of the season. Sophomores Eli Romijn and Sam Cooper put up a great fight, only losing by 2 points to two of EGR’s top performers. Sophomore Aidan O’Meara played his second match of the day with junior Shane Hubble, and also put up a great fight by only losing by 2.
The Rangers are in need of a big win, as they’ve gone 1-4 in their last 5 games. They will have an opportunity to do that Friday against the Hawks of Forest Hills Eastern on the road. If they can move on from this loss, look for big performances from the younger players on Friday.
