FHC varsity cross country secures second and third place at OK White Jamboree
The FHC boys and girls cross country teams had a very successful meet last night at the annual, OK White Jamboree at Cedar Springs. The boys team was able to take third place out of six teams; the girls team got runner-up, second place, out of the seven teams.
The girls were led by junior Nicole Marco who took third place out of 104 girls racing; her time was 19:29.03. The Rangers had three more girls place in the top twenty: sophomore Whitney Currie, senior Susannah Bennett, and junior Chloe Zeien. Whitney took sixth place with a time of 20:03.52. Next was Susannah who secured twelfth place with a racing time of 20:47.21. Lastly, Chloe finished in eighteenth place, and her final racing time was 21:18.06.
For the boys team senior Geoffrey Batterbee lead the team in second place with a final time of 16:46.10. Behind him was junior Gabe Carlson. Gabe took sixth place with a race time of 17:09.20. The last guy to finish in the top twenty for FHC was freshman Sam Yeager. Sam finished with a time of 18:06.05 securing seventeenth place out of the 143 other guys racing.
The FHC cross country teams will race again on Saturday, September 22, in the Cougar Falcon Invitational at Gainey.
