Girls JV field hockey falls to EGR 1-0

Last night the JV field hockey team took on East Grand Rapids at home. In another low-scoring bout, the Rangers fell to EGR by a score of 1-0.

For this match, it was a pretty slow offensive effort for both teams with only one goal being scored all game. For FH, a very strong defense was key. Freshman Remmie Gavle was a strong defender, only allowing 2 shots on goal the entire game. On the offensive side of the field, junior Megan Raisch had another strong game to put together a couple of strong drives and getting a lot of advantageous penalty corners. Megan also had a large number of shots on goal but unfortunately, couldn’t get much through a strong EGR defense.

The girls’ record now stands at 2-7-2 heading into the end of the season. The next game will take place this upcoming Saturday against Saline.
