Boys swim and dive has first conference win over Northview 106-76
Sophomore Avery LeTourneau was able to earn a qualifying time for the Division 1 State Meet when he finished his race in the 100-yard Butterfly with a time of 53.03. He helped lead FHC to their first conference victory over the Northview Wildcats last night 106-76.
Avery was also a part of two winning relays. He was in the 200-yard Medley Relay with senior Kaz Iwatsu. Both Avery and Kaz were also a part of the winning 200-yard Freestyle Relay, along with senior Charlie Krug. Charlie also placed first in the 50- and 100-yard Freestyle with times of 23.02 and 50.74, respectively.
Junior CJ Hier was then able to place first in the 100-yard Backstroke with a time of 59.47. Along with CJ, freshman Benji Zorn was able to place first in the 100-yard Breaststroke with a time of 1:08.18. Freshman Sam Yeager then finished third in the 200-yard IM and placed second in the 100-yard Backstroke.
The divers were led by senior Ryan Talbot, who placed second with a score of 201.75, and freshman Cole Hysong, who placed third with a score of 172.65.
This win puts FHC’s OK White conference record at 1-0. The Rangers will compete in the West Michigan Relays on Saturday.
