Varsity ice hockey shuts out Lowell-Caledonia 2-0
This past Friday, the boys varsity ice hockey team took on their cross-town rival, Lowell-Caledonia. In their last match up against them, FHC came away with the 3-1 win on opening weekend. With both teams having a little more experience under their belts at this point in the season, the game was still a close one; however, the Rangers came out on top, shutting them out 2-0.
FHC started their scoring with 11 minutes and 53 seconds left in the first period, when junior Ryan Jefferys put one in to score the first goal for FHC. Following a very slow second period, junior Peter Bardelli put in another goal for FHC with six minutes and 41 seconds left in the third period, giving the team 2 total goals on the night. On the defensive side of the game, senior goalie Carl Mielock added another shutout to his stellar season.
With yet another game in favor of the Rangers, their record now stands at 10-1-1. This upcoming weekend, the boys will take on FHNE at home tonight and West Ottawa on Saturday at home also.
