Varsity ice hockey takes second loss of the season to FHNE 2-1
Last night the boys varsity ice hockey team took on Forest Hills Northern/Eastern and faced its second loss of the season. Despite a close final score, the Rangers fell 2-1.
Within the first couple minutes of the game, sophomore Mason Kelly put one in to score FHC’s only goal and put them up 1-0. After this positive opening, the game took a bit of a downfall. After coming back from a long holiday break, the boys looked a little slower than their normal pace, which held them at a disadvantage. Senior goalie Carl Mielock played in the net for the whole game and only gave up 2 goals, but without the usual high offensive production, FHC lost by 1 goal.
This game is the first of many tough competitions the Rangers will face in this month, as they are set to take on many highly ranked teams. With a new loss added to their record, the Rangers sit at 10-2-1 and will take on West Ottawa at home tonight.
