Dance team wins Grand Champions at St. John’s Invitational
The dance team secured back-to-back Grand Champion titles at the St. John’s Invitational Saturday with two first-place finishes. FHC secured the top spot with its Jazz and Pom dances, while falling just short of the top three with its Hip Hop routine coming in fourth. The Lady Rangers were also awarded a costume award for their apparel in the Jazz routine for the second competition in a row.
The team felt that the energy was high and positive throughout the competition, making it that much easier to stay synchronized in the group dances. While the Jazz and Pom routines were very clean and well-executed, there is room for improvement in the Hip Hop dance. With no solos competing, the team was led on the floor by senior co-captains Lindsey Lunt, Maddie Musgraves, Rielly Nehls, and Alyssa Zadel.
This successful outing was the last of FHC’s regional competitions, and the dancers will next compete in three weeks at Nationals. The Rangers will take on the best competition in the country when they head to Orlando, Florida, and the St. John’s Invitational was a great outing to send them into this all-important performance with confidence.
