JV Water Polo cruises past Zeeland East 11-4
After a great showing at the Jenison JV tournament a couple of weeks ago, the girls JV water polo team picked up another win over Zeeland East yesterday. Freshman Caroline Bell and sophomore Rachel Schenk led all scorers with 2 goals, and freshman Sofia Johnson led the team in the steals category with 4. The ladies will travel back to Jenison for another JV tournament.
FH dominated the game offensively, sending a message early with some goals in the first few moments. While the team was very consistent on offense, they also played a great all-around game as well. Sophomore Emma Zawacki did a great job of breaking Zeeland’s counter-attacks throughout the game. The offense continued to explode in the second half, as 7 different players on the team scored. FH went on to win by a wide margin, winning 11-4.
The win last night puts Forest Hills at 6-2 on the season. The ladies will make their third trip to Jenison on the season, as they play in their second tournament of the season. To succeed, the team will need to continue the offensive success as well as playing excellent defense.
