Girls JV lacrosse takes first loss of the season to EGR
The Forest Hills United JV Lacrosse team took on the west-side powerhouse, East Grand Rapids, last night in a hard-fought match on the road. After being undefeated for the beginning of the season, the team took its first loss last night by a score of 3-1. This game now puts the team’s overall record at a very impressive 6-1.
For the Rangers, freshman Kali Coppess carried the defense. While the score is not a good representation of her hard work, her presence in the back-line was a huge contribution. She had several stops, and helped to block several shots in the back; without her, the score gap could have been much larger.
Freshman Sofia Debano was another key player in this game. Her skills on the attacking side were enough to help the team get several shot opportunities. Her agility and speed also helped, as she was a reliable outlet for her team in times of pressure.
After this game, the team is looking to redeem themselves against the Eagles of Grand Rapids Christian next Monday, April, 22.
