Why do you play baseball?

“Ever since I was little, I’ve always loved playing baseball. My dad used to always have Detroit Tigers games on, and that got me into playing baseball. I really feel like every year my desire to play only grows.”

Who has been the biggest inspiration in your baseball career?

“Probably Mike Trout, who plays for the Anaheim Angels. He’s arguably one of the best baseball players in the game today, and maybe even of all time. I just love the way that he plays. He’s a superstar that plays the game the right way and is a great ambassador for baseball for kids like me.”

What position do you play and why do you like it?

“I play shortstop and I like it a lot because I always feel like the ball will be hit my way, and I always feel very involved in the game. And it’s a very mental position, you’ve got to know all the ins and outs of the position, and it’s challenging to play.”

What do you like most about your team?

“I like the level of competition that we have not only in games but in practice. And some of us like to hang out a lot before and after practice, and we’re hooked on a Netflix show that we all like to binge-watch.”

What do you like best about Coach Murray?

“I think he goes into every game with a mindset of winning. No matter who we are up against, he always does his best to win the games.”
