JV baseball defeats NorthPointe Christian in non-conference game 8-1
More stories from Sam Tuori
Despite being without five players due to either graduation or illness, the FHC JV baseball team was able to soundly defeat NorthPointe Christian 8-1 in a non-conference matchup.
The Rangers gave the ball to freshman Joey Seurnyck, and he pitched great for six innings, allowing just 5 Mustang base runners and struck out 5 hitters. Joey also benefitted from great defensive plays, as the Rangers committed just 1 flukey error. At the plate, the Rangers were patient, as they drew 4 walks and racked up 9 hits. Sophomores Isaac Gurley and Logan Vanlente both had extra-base hits, and fellow sophomore Brady Price, who is normally on the varsity team but played with the JV for a game, had a pair of hits to help lead FHC.
Isaac came in to pitch in the seventh inning, and he was able to record the final 3 outs. With the win, the Rangers improve to 12-8 and will be back in action on Wednesday when they host Greenville
