Staff Poll: Is our staff for or against the new e-cigarette law?
Today, the state of Michigan became the first state to ban the sales of flavored e-cigarettes. Gov. Gretchen Whitmer has used her executive power to enact this ban for the next six months, after which she will renew it for another six months. During this year-long period, Whitmer will be working to pass a law banning flavored e-cigarettes indefinitely. The governor’s office also released that she will be restricting marketing on the products to prevent companies from portraying the products as clean.
To see how teens felt about this issue, as they are the ones the ban is mostly directed at, The Central Trend took a staff poll. Surprising, or rather unsurprisingly if you know us, the results were unanimous: The Central Trend is for the new ban.
