The Forest Hills Central Competitive Cheer team had a rough day at Lowell in their first meet after winter break. They took 4th place in the Lowell competition this week and did not have their best meet this season. They had an overall score of 638.9 in their three rounds and were not very happy with their outcome.
The Rangers looked to overcome their winter break woes coming into their first conference meet, a crucial one meet to set the bar for the rest of the Rangers conference,
“Today was not our best day,” Coach Olivia Obetts said. “We had two weeks off for break, so some people were forced to step up and become the leaders of this team.”
Some of those people included Senior Katie Willemin and Senior Sami Walquist.
“There was a lot of room for improvement,” Katie said. “We could’ve done a lot better with our performance, but we will learn from our mistakes, and fix them in practice.”
The next competition for the Rangers is this Saturday, January 11th. This will be the 2nd conference meet of their season.
