Freshman Peyton Price and senior Alex Souza led the way for FHC Bowling during its conference meet on Saturday at Cedar Springs, but this did not lead them to a high placement as they finished in second to last place.
The Rangers came into this match after a one-pin loss to Forest Hills Northern. They wanted to come out confident, and they wanted a hot start to their day so their momentum could continue throughout the whole meet.
“[It was a] pretty average day for us,” head coach Grant Vermeer said. “We had some high scores throughout the day, but they were not consistent throughout the day like we wanted.”
Along with Peyton and Alex, junior Tommy Payne did his job as he always does; he was consistent throughout each game during the day. Each bowled a game over 200 pins, and they all averaged a high number of pins per game.
“Hopefully we can get used to our new pattern for games so we can perform well at Regionals Friday and Saturday,” Vermeer said.
The Rangers look to put their first-ever title on their banner in the new gym this week Friday and Saturday in the Regional round at Westgate Bowling Alley.
