15 lessons I have learned in quarantine
While the quarantine due to the coronavirus has affected my everyday life in many ways, it certainly has taught me many lessons that will never be forgotten. Although it has been difficult to make such a change to my typical lifestyle, there are 15 lessons I have learned through my time at home that will stick with me for years on end.
- Do not take going to school for granted. Even if it may be stressful, you do not realize how much you miss it once it is taken away.
- Your friends truly make life much more exciting. When you can not see them every day, it feels as if you are living an entirely different life.
- Going out to eat is something that will never be looked at the same way.
- A simple trip to the grocery store can be much more thrilling when it is one of your only times outside of the house.
- It is important to spend time trying new activities. You may never know your talents if you do not explore your options.
- Don’t watch Netflix shows in just one sitting; it is much more exciting to make it last a few days.
- Be patient with your family; they are the people who will always be around you. Even if you get on each other’s nerves, they will always be there.
- After being around the same people for such a long time, you start to recognize traits about them that you may never have noticed before.
- Being positive makes the long days go by much faster. Rather than dwelling on the negative aspects of a situation, be optimistic and remember that everything has an end.
- It is important to embrace freedom and a carefree lifestyle when it is available.
- The future is unknown, and you should always expect the unexpected. Nothing is ever set in stone, so do not take the opportunities you are given for granted.
- Cleaning and decluttering can be one of the most satisfying activities. Getting rid of unnecessary junk gives your life so much freedom.
- Learning can happen in many different ways. Whether it be inside of the classroom or at home, you are always able to adapt to a different way of gaining knowledge.
- People are much more adaptable than it may seem. The world changed in the blink of an eye, and many people were able to adapt right alongside of it.
- Once the quarantine is officially over, nobody will ever take advantage of their normal lifestyle.
