Boys JV soccer falls to Forest Hills Northern 4-1 snapping their win streak

The Rangers had a crosstown rivalry match against the Forest Hills Northern Huskies last Thursday. As one of the biggest games of the season every year, the boys looked to take the momentum of their recent winning streak to get an upper hand in this game. However, from the start of the game, Northern dominated the possession in the midfield which allowed them to pick the boys apart and take a commanding 4-0 lead at halftime.

The Rangers started the second half looking like a different team; they were battling the Huskies for possession in the midfield, creating several dangerous chances on goal. FHC freshman goalie Kasey Dantuma also made a big presence, getting the boys defense gathered and making some big saves to shut the Husky offense out in the second half. The boys kept fighting to comeback and finally got a goal back late in the second half from their freshman striker Jacob Robertson, who was able to slot the ball right past the Northern goalie. Their efforts were not enough, however, as the Huskies still came out on top 4-1.

Following this loss, the boys record falls to 4-3 for the season and 3-3 in their conference. The Rangers look to bounce back from this loss against Portage Northern this upcoming Saturday, September 26 at 10:00 AM. Portage Northern will be a challenging out of conference game for the boys and a good test to see how they play after a tough loss.
