Varsity field hockey struggles against Ann Arbor Huron, falls 8-0
After winning on Tuesday, the girls varsity field hockey team looked to continue its hot streak against the Ann Arbor Huron River Rats. The girls took a long trip to Plymouth Canton on Tuesday and for the second consecutive game, they took a long trip to Ann Arbor. The girls competed throughout the game but it was not enough, as they were defeated 8-0. Regardless of the score, there were still some girls that made an impact in the game. These key players were FHE junior Brooke Toig, FHN sophomore Lexi Slywka, and FHC junior Julia Brown.
From start to finish, the girls got outplayed. Even though the girls struggled, they maintained good chemistry and effort.
“The biggest key for us is to continue to create a bond within the team and continue to get better,” Sophie Hartl said. “We would like to win every game, but we care more about our chemistry and to continue to have fun.”
The field hockey team moves 2-3 and 0-2 in conference play. With four games left in the season, the girls are focusing on continuing to get better while trying to pile up wins. The girls face Novi High School on October 3 at 10:00 AM
