The Central Trend

Melanie Medina - Duque, Junior Writer

She’s tired, but a little riotous. Freshman Melanie Medina - Duque yanks off her old granny cardigans and spends a whole week on a single story which—trust me—is not her fault. That’s just how her brain works y’know, a lot of gears turnin’ in that little head of hers. Entering her first—and definitely not last—year as a member of The Central Trend, pray she publishes at least three articles because, for the love of pineapples, Mel can't think for her life. In late evenings, she entertains herself by feeding her baby crested gecko. Even though he’s tiny, Blue can be a handful sometimes. Seriously. That boy bites hard—but Mel still loves him nonetheless.
