Monia Abbas, Staff Writer

Monia Abbas is a Senior returning to The Central Trend after two years of exploring different interests. From calligraphy to baking, she’s spent time enriching her mind with as many hobbies she could think of. Additionally, Monia loves reading for pleasure, but has recently begun to enjoy challenging her mind and opinions with nonfiction novels. Her other interests include crocheting, hanging out with friends, journaling, rollerblading, listening to music, and yoga. Though Monia has acquired a variety of activities to pass her time, she returns with a renewed passion for writing.

To my mother and father Mama: There’s nothing I can write that can describe the amount of love and gratitude I feel towards you. Love seems too insignificant of a word to describe anything involving...

There are many books out there in the world. Some fantasy, mystery, romance, sci-fi, dystopian. Some books were recently published, and some have been out for a while. What I’ve started to notice is...

Most people grow up with a stuffie or an object that now reminds them of the past—a companion of sorts. Then there are others who meet their companions later on in life, who meet them at a store or at...
