Boys and girls varsity track take on FHN and Ottawa Hills
On Monday, FHC varsity boys and girls track took on Forest Hills Northern and Ottawa Hills at FHN. The boys captured a win over FHN 73-64 and Ottawa Hills 103-34. The girls team won over Ottawa Hills 99-34 but took a defeat from FHN 98-39.
In the boys varsity 400-meter dash, junior Geoffrey Batterbee placed first. Senior Jared Ireland and junior Kai Hagadorn placed second and third as well. Junior Ryan Talbot placed first in the boys 110-meter hurdles with senior Tristan Kerr right behind him placing second. Ryan then took first in the boys 300-meter hurdles.
FHC’s relays again proceed to show all the hard work and determination put into practice. In the 4×100 relay seniors Hunter Campbell, Moise Guerrier, Ian Able, and Nolan Vandergrif placed first. Again, FHC placed first in the boys 4×200 relay and 4×400 relay.
In the girls 1600-meter dash, sophomore Nicole Marco placed first. Junior Susannah Bennett then placed second in the girls 3200-meter dash. Senior Linnea Eastburg and juniors Jordan Boltres, Kathyln Frazer, and Madison Bunke ran the 4×200 meter relay placing at first. Junior Kelsey Becker received a personal record and first place in the girl’s pole vault event.
On Friday, the boys and girls track team will be gearing up for the OK White Championship. The team will make its way to Houseman Field along with Forest Hills Northern, Northview, Ottawa Hills, Greenville, and Lowell.
