Boys varsity soccer obliterates Ottawa Hills 8-0
The boys varsity soccer team has caught fire, as the Rangers claimed a dominant 8-0 win over the Ottawa Hills Bengals Tuesday night on the road. Junior Sammy Postlewait and senior Geoffrey Batterbee led the charge offensively, each scoring 2 goals and getting down the field with ease. FHC now shifts their attention to a big rivalry match with the FHN Huskies.
The first half started off with the goals by both Sammy and Geoffrey. This confidence helped the Rangers remain consistent on offense, and on the defensive side of the ball, the Bengals weren’t allowed past midfield. Just before the half ended, junior Micah Gschwind tapped in another goal to put FHC up 3-0. FHC would cruise on to score another whopping 5 goals before the end of the game. By the end, Sammy and Geoffery would go on to score a total of two goals each, Micah and senior Beck Norris would have one goal each and to round it out, senior Kai Hegedorn would score two more.
FHC needed a big win, as their past two games have been some nail biters. The Rangers are now 4-5 and have made a remarkable turnaround after starting the season 0-5. This test against Northern might be their toughest yet. But if FHC comes out with fire and intensity, look for a big win over the Huskies Thursday night.
