Girls JV basketball starts season off with win against Wyoming 32-26

Last night, the girls JV basketball team battled against the Wyoming Wolves and finished the game with a strong win, 32-26.

The Lady Rangers started off strong by winning the tip and receiving a foul for two free-throws from sophomore Audrey Sidebotham. Continuing on into the first half, sophomore Morghan Tilton scored, along with freshman Julia Carlson taking a drive straight to the basket and scoring 2 points for the team.

Going into the second half, the Wolves ran a productive full-court press and had impressive shooting from outside the arc. In the third quarter, Wyoming was able to cut the lead to 1 point, 23-22. By the end of the third, FHC was still leading 24-22. In the final quarter, sophomore Katie Tellier led the team in rebounding, which helped the team to finish off with a 32-26 win. Key players in the last half were Julia scoring 8 points, sophomore Ella Sloat scoring 7, and sophomore Katie Tellier scoring 6.

With this being the first game and win of the season, the girls are starting out on a high note and have set the pace for the rest of the season. The Lady Rangers take on the Grandville Bulldogs on Thursday, Dec. 5 on the road.
