How long have you been playing basketball?
“I have been playing for about six years.”
Why do you play basketball?
“I play basketball because it’s a lot of fun, and it’s really rewarding [when] you have a ton of teammates and you work really well together. Also, [it’s rewarding] when you try hard all season and you see that all of the work pays off by winning your games and getting a good record.”
Who has been your biggest inspiration?
“My brother has been my biggest inspiration because he played three sports, basketball is one of them, and I just loved coming to his games. I really looked up to him and wanted to be like him. I always wanted to play like him and be as good as him, and he’s always motivated me by telling me that I’m doing great and [by] going to the gym with me when I’m not doing as great.”
What is a team goal this season?
“A team goal is to have a good record this year. Last year, we had a really rough year, going 2-17, and I just want to improve and win at least ten games this year. We have been growing as a team and this year will be much better because we have a different coach, different players, and it’s definitely a different team dynamic.”
What is a quote that inspires you?
“‘Everybody loves everybody in the locker room,’ by Jackie Moon. It inspires me because it shows how a team needs to be together; you can hate each other at school, but once you step in that locker room you need to be teammates and work together.”
