The second game of the night saw an offensive explosion from the Rangers, as they were able to push 18 runs across. Freshman Lyra Vandenberg went 3-3 to lead the charge, while Maddy and Remmie both earned multiple hits. Junior Katie Willemin secured a triple, while sophomore Irene Collacchioni earned a hit in her very first softball game.

FHN freshman Alyssa Wierenga dominated in the circle, as she struck out 3, walked 2, gave up 2 hits, and allowed 1 run to score. The Ranger defense was flawless behind her, recording 0 errors in the game.

FHC moves to 1-2 (1-1) on the season and will go on the road to Northview for the third game of the series on Friday. A win tomorrow is key to the Rangers’ hopes at a conference title, as taking the series against Northview would be a big step in the right direction.
