Girls JV soccer concludes season with a 9-0 win to secure conference championship
After a crucial 5-0 win over conference foe Lowell, the girls JV soccer team put themselves in prime position to win the conference championship in a matchup against Greenville, a team they mercied earlier in the season.
From the very beginning of the game, the Rangers absolutely dominated on both sides of the ball. FHC kept a vast majority of the possession throughout the game, creating attack after attack on the offensive side. Defensively, the Yellow Jackets didn’t present much of a threat as the Rangers halted the Greenville attack before it was even in a dangerous area. The girls made great combination plays throughout the middle of the field in order to penetrate the defense, which in turn created easy goal scoring opportunities for the Ranger forwards.
Sophomore Addi Whitten led FHC on the offensive side, scoring 4 goals throughout the game. Joining her to create the nine-goal victory were freshmen Olivia Bowling, Ruthie VanSkiver, and Addi Tack, along with sophomores Morghan Tilton and Mia Rabideau.
With all nine of the goals being scored in the first half, the girls wrapped things up in 35 minutes to head home early. This game was a great result and an exclamation point to the end of the season. With this win, the Rangers finish up the season with a 14-1-1 (9-1) record.
