Girls JV Golf places third at Thornapple Kellogg Invitational
More stories from Ally Francisco
The girls JV golf team kicked off its season at Thornapple Kellogg yesterday afternoon. After a great season last year, the girls are looking forward to the 2019 season with excitement. They have six returning players from last year’s squad, which means experience will definitely be on their side this year as they look to accomplish bigger and better things.
Overall, the girls clinched place. Hastings came in first and Lowell closely followed in second. FHC’s top scorers were Lexi Schnelker and Alyssa Cheslek with scores of 53, and very close behind was Bela Gonzalez and Serena Theide with a 56.
With last year’s great accomplishment of placing third place or higher all season, the girls are striving to repeat this feat again. Looking into the season ahead, the girls should have just as much success as last year.
The next match for the Rangers is Wednesday, August 28th in Greenville.
