Boys JV Soccer picks up fourth win of the season versus the Northview Wildcats
The FHC boys JV Soccer team took on the Northview Wildcats Tuesday night in yet another OK White Conference game. The Rangers were able to walk away with a 1-0 win and made this their fourth win of the season.
The first half was a back-and-forth battle between the Wildcats and the Rangers, which ended in a 0-0 tie heading into half-time. As the second half commenced, the Rangers took immediate control of the game. Their domination ultimately resulted in the Rangers goal, which came off a long ball played behind the Wildcats defensive line. From there, sophomore Bryce Notarnicola ran onto the pass and placed the ball cleanly in the back of the net to put the Rangers ahead for the rest of the game.
Multiple Rangers had a very strong game and were also huge contributors to their win. Sophomore David Wasilewski played goalie for the Rangers and held the Wildcats to a shutout, along with having several great saves. Freshman Gavin O’Meara was FHC’s center back throughout the entirety of the game and kept the defensive line strong. His communication up the field allowed for the build-up of several attacks on the Wildcats goal. Working closely with Gavin was freshman Noah Burr. Noah played the center-mid position and worked the ball all across the field, winning 50-50 balls played through the middle. The duo of Bryce and freshman Myles Shoham had a huge impact on the attacking side of the field. The two were constantly getting themselves open for their teammates to find them on the Wildcats half of the field.
The boys JV Soccer team now half a record of 4-5-2 this season. The next game will take place on Thursday, September 19. They will be taking on the Greenville Yellow Jackets on the road at 5:00 pm.
