More stories from Ally Francisco
After a first place finish on Wednesday at Arrowhead, the girls JV Golf Team competed at the Forest Hills Ryder Cup Thursday afternoon. This was the inaugural year for the Forest Hills Ryder Cup Tournament held on the Indian Trails Golf Course. Competing on back to back days, the Lady Rangers placed second. Overall, the Rangers prevailed through the hot weather, however, it did negatively affect some putts. Forest Hills Eastern placed first, just two strokes ahead of FHC, with a score of 31. In third place, Forest Hills Northern shot a 36.
The format for the Forest Hills Ryder Cup was a scramble. The Rangers competed with 3 groups of 4 participants each. For the Rangers, the leading group consisted of sophomores Coco Corey, Bella Beckering, Bella Wisely, and Kenzie Hushak. The ladies shot right on par with a 33. The next best group for FHC shot a 35. This team included sophomores Alyssa Cheslek and Lexi Schnelker, junior Bela Gonzalez, and senior Taylor Today. The final FHC foursome combined freshmen Serena Thiede, Ashley Yarnell, Kierston Moul, and sophomore Elise Walker. They shot a 37.
The next jamboree for the Girls JV Golf team is on Tuesday, September 24th at Mona Shores.
