After beating rival Forest Hills Eastern earlier in the year, the Rangers needed one win to be named the official Queens of the Hills. This win would have to come against the third school in Forest Hills, the Forest Hills Northern Huskies. The games in the past few weeks have started a little shaky with a narrow win over East Grand Rapids in the first set, so for today, the Rangers wanted to change that trend before it becomes a habit.

This time around, the girls did not let up early and secured the first set by a score of 25-8. The set was led by a very long-serving run from sophomore Ally Werkema. Her long-serving run led the Huskies to lose all their momentum from an early good start by keeping it close. This killed the Huskies in the first set as they seemed drained of all the energy they had in warmups.

The second set was yet another great set for the Rangers, even though the score was closer than the first. This time, the Rangers won by a score of 25-17. Freshman Brooke Bowers was all over the court with great kills. As of late, Brooke has been on a whole other level, playing out of her mind with great plays in almost every game. This game was just another one for the highlight reels for Brooke.

The backcourt trio of sophomore Kate Hotaling, sophomore Averie Zaschak, and sophomore Emma Costello also seemed to be too strong for the Huskies to match as key plays came from each of these three girls.

The Rangers are now 6-1 on the season, still holding the top spot in the OK White conference. The team does not return for another week until the girls start their first of three quad series with the rest of the OK White.
