Varsity soccer bounces back and beats Portage Northern 3-2

Saturday, September 30th the Rangers took on Portage Northern at Portage. Coming off of a tight game previously against FHN, the Rangers used that as momentum heading into this game. Senior Eric Conerty had himself a day netting two goals. Senior Tristan Kerr was able to score as well. The Ranger defense was able to hold Portage Northern scoreless in the first half behind the play of both senior goalies Jared Ireland and Max Mairn. Towards the end of the game Portage Northern was able to find a way to score two goals, but that was not enough as the Rangers held on for a 3-2 victory.

Next up for the Rangers is at Grand Rapids Ottawa Hills on Tuesday, October 2nd. Look for this to be a tune up game for the Rangers as they were able to mercy them 9-0 last time these two teams met.
