JV boys basketball falls to Spring Lake in Cornerstone Tournament 55-24
FHC hasn’t caught a break yet, as they have lost yet another game. On Tuesday, the JV boys basketball team took on Spring Lake in the Cornerstone tournament and fell short of the win with a score of 55-24. Despite taking the shots and trying to get some points on the board, the Rangers weren’t able to get the ball into the basket. While FHC had some struggles on offense, they did improve their game defensive wise. Sophomores Jay Wiener and Tommy Spaletto along with freshman Jacob Ervin had some effective blocks for the Rangers.
In order to prevent the shots that Spring Lake was taking, Jay, Tommy, and Jacob all put up some blocks. Sophomore Andrew Preston was a big part of putting up many of the Rangers’ points. This isn’t the first time Andrew has been a high scorer, as he has been an asset in previous games with his impressive consistency around the arc.
The Rangers are looking to improve their play greatly before conference games start. They plan to work on both their offense and defense; they need to run more plays and move the ball around in order to get clearer shots. Looking ahead, the Rangers have been hanging in there, but now they have to step it up before they start their conference play.
