Last night the boys varsity lacrosse team took on Reeths Puffer at home. With a total of 17 goals to Reeths Puffers’ 3, the Rangers came strong in their first game with a statement win. Three big scorers from the night were seniors Tobey Hendricks with 4 Bryce Clay with 3, and junior Tate Hallock who added 2 more. Between these three and the rest of the Rangers, FHC was able to produce on offense while shutting down the opponents’ offensive efforts and staying collected on the defensive end to ensure that the Rockets’ scoring was kept to a minimum.
In the first half the Rangers came out as the dominant team from the start. On the defensive side, seniors Andy Trapp and Caleb Foster and sophomore Chris Junkunc held Reeths Puffer to 1 goal. Junior Jack Nolan started at goalie for the Rangers.
In the second half with such a big lead, everyone had a chance to play. The Rangers let in two more goals, making the final score 17-3. Senior Jacob Demeter played in goal for the last half of the game.
The Rangers look to carry over momentum from this big first win into their road trip games against Carmel and Hamilton Southeastern in Indianapolis, Indiana this weekend.
